Nanny Moores Bridge, Bude
|
In 1963 a new art society was born in Bude to become Bude
and North Cornwall Art Society, later changing its name to
Bude Art Society.
From a handful of people at the beginning, this has now grown
to a membership of around seventy five people, drawing its
members from a larger area than North Cornwall.
From a fairly formal beginning BAS has developed into a very
friendly group of people, who meet regularly to share and
encourage each other in their love of art.
Workshops, some tutored, are held regularly and are well attended,
being held in the comfortable, light and airy rooms of the
Parkhouse Centre in Bude, twenty five yards from the Bude
Light.
In the summer break, a few members meet to paint Al Fresco,
weather permitting. BAS now holds one large exhibition per
year, when any member who chooses may show their work - NO
selection committee!
We make visitors very welcome at all times, so please, do
come and join us, either as a member or a visitor. Absolute
beginners and all abilities are most welcome.
